National History Day® (NHD) is proud to announce the teachers honored as the 2024 Patricia Behring Teacher of the Year nominees. Each NHD affiliate may nominate one middle school teacher and one high school teacher per year for this prestigious award. In addition to celebrating outstanding history scholarship and innovative classroom instruction, the award comes with a $10,000 cash prize.
Kaylah Blount, a dedicated math teacher at Rochelle Middle School, has been honored with the 2023 Educator of the Year award from Credle Inspired Enterprises. The award, named in memory of Margaret G. Gibbs, a renowned educator who touched the lives of countless children during her three-decade career, recognizes outstanding educators who have made a significant impact in their field.
Ms. Cassie Whitley and Ms. Michaela Jones are awarded the Lenoir Hospital Foundation scholarship at the entrance to UNC Health Lenoir.
Brian Corey, director of testing and accountability for Lenoir County Public Schools, is winner of the 2022 Clyde Davis RAC 5 Testing Coordinator of the Year Award, an honor bestowed by his peers across a 19-county region in southeastern North Carolina.
Eve Honeycutt received the Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of County Agriculture Agents during the 2020 Annual Meeting and Professional Improvement Conference. Honeycutt was one of several honorees who represent the top two percent of the membership selected by their peers and the Director of Extension.
UNC Lenoir Health Care has received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines® Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award.
