Greene Early College hosted its first blood drive on Friday, March 1 from 11am-3pm. The event was hosted by GEC HOSA. Alisha Williams, Jensen Lockman, and Coty Starkey from The Blood Connection performed the drive. A total of 20 students and staff participated.
The American Red Cross has announced a series of local blood drives in response to a critical blood shortage as the nation faces the lowest number of people giving blood in 20 years.
There will be a blood drive at Fairfield Center on Friday, July 1, 2022 from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Fairfield-Center Fellowship Hall.

North Lenoir’s DECA program had dozens give blood to its drive Wednesday.
Students from North Lenoir’s DECA organization will hold a blood drive at the school’s gym Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Over the coming days and weeks we are going to see a tremendous need for support. More than 170 blood drives have been forced to cancel through this week due to Hurricane Florence, resulting in more than 4,600 uncollected blood and platelet donations.
