For the first time in nearly a decade, the city of Kinston is looking for a city manager.
During closed session of Tuesday’s regular meeting, City Manager Tony Sears tendered his resignation to the Kinston City Council; his final day in the position will be Aug. 17. He has accepted the deputy city manager position for the City of Wilson.
The Neuse Regional Library questions the Town of La Grange’s commitment to library services following a February 24 vote by the town’s council. Yesterday, the Neuse Regional Library issued the following statement:
On February 24, 2020, the La Grange Public Library posed a question on their Facebook account asking, “Can you imagine your community without a public library?” This social media post, and the La Grange Town Manager’s recommendation of a one-year lease on the building that houses the library, drew comments and concerns from some La Grange citizens at the Town Council meeting Monday night.
Residents, employees and visitors of Kinston are invited to share their experiences and preferences for walking in the city through an online survey and a community workshop to be held Feb. 4.
Residents of Kinston can now apply to participate in the upcoming citizen academy, “Kinston 101” to learn more about city government.
