On July 21, Eastpointe and its community partners completed Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training for 22 first responders, including 18 from Wayne County. The training was held at Wayne Community College.
On September 28, CEO Sarah Stroud, and a group of staff and board members, represented Eastpointe at the grand opening of a new Oxford House location in Kinston. Eastpointe provided financial support to help launch the new facility.
On August 18, two members of Eastpointe’s Community Relations Team led Youth Mental Health First Aid Training for 38 social workers and counselors with Lenoir County Public Schools (LCPS) at the Kinston Community Center.
On July 23, Eastpointe, and its community partners completed Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training for 15 officers from the Kinston Police Department and the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office. The training was held at Lenoir Community College.
Teens got to enjoy ice cream and hear from a retired deputy police chief about safe interaction with law enforcement.
Local organizations teamed up on Wednesday to identify the homeless population in Lenoir County.
A documentary about assisting at-risk children will be played today at Lenoir Community College at 1:30 p.m.
