North Carolina Governors Highway Safety Program this Labor Day holiday to get impaired drivers off our roadways. Labor Day is one of the most dangerous weekends for travel behind New Year’s Eve, Christmas and St. Patrick’s Day. Over the 2019 holiday week, 10 people died and almost 600 were injured as a direct result of impaired driving in NC. Sixty-six additional lives were claimed due to speeding, distracted and sleepy driving.
