Graduate Decision Day in high school is a special event that celebrates achievements. Most high schools celebrate the commitment of a high school senior to a college or university in a particular sport in which he or she has excelled.
The State Highway Patrol swore in 21 new troopers at a ceremony held for the 156th Basic Highway Patrol School. The ceremony ended 25 weeks of demanding courses aimed at preparing these new troopers for a meaningful career of service to the state of North Carolina.
Students in North Carolina who graduated high school in 2022 are eligible to have tuition and fees covered at any of the state’s 58 community colleges through the Longleaf Commitment Grant. The grant provides between $700 – $2,800 to recent high school graduates to cover the cost of tuition and fees for up to two years at a North Carolina Community College. 2022 high school graduates in North Carolina are eligible for the grant money to use for current and subsequent semesters through Fall 2024.
Arendell Parrott Academy conferred diplomas on 46 graduating seniors in commencement exercises on June 4th. Held at 4 p.m. in Ellis Simon Gymnasium on the school’s campus, the ceremony featured student speakers Elena Williamson, Josh Okonkwo, and Matti Snyder. Head of School Brooks Sutton stated.
