The Class of 2024 at Lenoir County Early College High School inaugurated graduation season for Lenoir County Public Schools on Wednesday night by awarding diplomas to 43 seniors, 35 of whom went on the next night to receive degrees from Lenoir Community College.
Whether it’s the celebrated music program or the top-notch science instruction or a connection as direct as family, North Carolina A&T State University has captured the attention of three of LCPS’s most successful graduating seniors. A&T has mirrored their interest by short-listing the trio for its most prized merit scholarships.

Belinda McGinnis, who has earned local and regional recognition as a math teacher and leader of digital instruction at Lenoir County Early College High School, now has a statewide honor to her credit. She is the winner of the 2024 Outstanding Young Educator Award from the North Carolina Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
On a night that would likely be their last together as a group, graduating seniors at Lenoir County Early College High School hugged the memories made over the years by a small class at a school known as a place of encouragement and support.
