Lions Industries for the Blind celebrated its deaf and blind employees on October 9, recognizing their contributions during National Disability Employment Awareness Month. The event, held at their facility, coincided with World Sight Day and highlighted the significance of workplace inclusion for employees with disabilities.
“We’re a family and all of us enjoy our jobs!” That comment from employee Cameron Morris sums up 52 years of success at NIB associated nonprofit agency Lions Industries for the Blind (LIB), based in Kinston, North Carolina.
Despite the delays faced last year, Lions Industries for the Blind, Inc. (LIB) celebrated 50 years of service to the community through providing jobs for blind, visually impaired, deaf, and other disabled individuals.
On October 23, 2021, at the Kinston Community Center from 9:00 am until 11:00 am there will be a fourth annual Strides Rockin’ Walk-A-Thon hosted by Lion’s Industries for the Blind and Kinston Community Center.
Lions Industries for the Blind of Kinston is hosting a food drive at historic Grainger Stadium on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, outside the main gate of the stadium between 6:00 pm and 7:15 pm. The event is to raise awareness on diabetes as well as to give to the local non-profits for food as hunger is a focus for the organization.
STRIDES is an initiative sponsored by International Lions in countries all over the world. Each Lions Club or a community of clubs can host events or do fundraisers for diabetes awareness. It’s the local club(s) choice how to use the funds as long as it’s for diabetes expenses, research or awareness.
