Maxwell Andrews receives the Morehead-Cain Scholarship. Max is a student at Arendell Parrott Academy. He is the son of Brent and Susan Andrews. He is an AP Scholar with Distinction, a member of the Cum Laude Chapter, a four-time Presidential Service Scholar, a Governor’s Volunteer Service Award recipient, and an Eagle Scout. Max co-founded “Patriots for The Planet” an environmental club at APA.
Considering the odds – fewer than 3 percent are chosen – Derrian Wilson can be forgiven his sense of surprise, yet here he is: a Kinston High School senior who’s won a Morehead-Cain Scholarship to the University of North Carolina.
We are honored to recognize the following Seniors as Morehead-Cain Scholarship Nominees for Jones Senior High School. The Morehead-Cain Scholarship provides a four-year, fully funded educational experience for students of the highest caliber at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Nominees are selected based on the following criteria: Leadership, Character, Scholarship and Physical Vigor.
