The Summer Internship Program with NC Cooperative Extension provides a great experience that can bridge the gap between college and career. The Lenoir County Cooperative Extension Office gained Gabriella Haddock as a new team member this summer through the internship program.
On August 18 & 19, 2023 Jones, Craven, and Pamlico Counties will be holding a livestock show at the Lenoir County Livestock Arena. This show will be a part of the 11 show showmanship circuit in our district. Showmanship rules are to be announced.
Fair attendees can "Lend A Helping Hand" by donating items such as non-perishable foods items, hygiene products, and paper products, such as toilet paper, paper towels, paper plates, cups, etc. Although food is of utmost importance the need for hygiene and paper products is important too. Folks will be able to drop them in the designated area before they enter the midway.
NC Cooperative Extension will be hosting the second Annual Casserole Cook-Off. There will be two categories: meat and meatless casseroles. You must include which category you are entering with your name and number and a full description of the recipe. There are monetary prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and the overall winner. The winners will be featured in the Neuse News and on our social media formats as well.
Pumpkin Day 2022 will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Cunningham Research Station at 200 Cunningham Road in Kinston from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm. To register, call the Lenoir County Agriculture Extension Office at (252) 527-2191.
On Wednesday August 24, 2022, staff of the NC Cooperative Extension, Lenoir County Center, and Lenoir County Master Gardeners, along with members and volunteers of the U.S. Forest Service hosted an ornament making workshop for the U.S Capital Christmas Tree at the Cooperative Extension Building. The workshop was open to anyone who wished to contribute their talent to the project.

Eve Honeycutt received the Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of County Agriculture Agents during the 2020 Annual Meeting and Professional Improvement Conference. Honeycutt was one of several honorees who represent the top two percent of the membership selected by their peers and the Director of Extension.
The Lenoir County Board of Elections opened 4 early voting sites this week for the March 3, 2020 primary. Those sites are located at Teacher’s Memorial Gym, NC Cooperative Extension Office, Fairfield Rec Center and Ebenezer Church (La Grange).
