The Extension Master Gardener Volunteers of Lenoir County (EMGV) held their Annual Christmas Party & Achievement Banquet December 10th. With over 30 EMGV and guests, great food and lots of laughter was shared throughout the celebration. Consumer Horticulture Agent & EMGV Advisor Paige Petticrew, 4-H Agent Abbigail Wells, and 4-H Program Assistant Joel Dixon were in attendance to join in the celebrations.
Consumer Horticulture Agent in Lenoir County, Paige Petticrew was recently invited to speak at the NC Cooperative Extension Agriculture Programs Foundation Board in Cary, NC. Paige received an Extension Innovation Grant in the spring of 2023 and was asked to report on how she utilized the grant funding to the board.
RALEIGH — While some economic metrics continue to offer good news to North Carolinians, others point in a different direction. U.S. agricultural exports, for example, fell by $17 billion last year and appear to be on track for another decline of about $8 billion or so this year.
On March 25th Lenoir County Master Gardener Association (EMGV) and members of the Southeastern Native Plant Society gathered for a workday at our Native Plant Garden and Meadow located at the CSS Neuse Replica. EMGV Karen Mulcahy directed the group to remove invasive plants and freshen up the area for the spring.
The annual Lenoir Master Garden Plant Sale will be held behind the Cooperative Extension office at the Master Gardener Greenhouse at 1791 Hwy. 11/55 in Kinston.
