Matilda The Musical will be debuting on the Turner Stage at Lenoir Community College July 14-16 and 21-23. The Roald Dahl musical centers on Matilda Wormwood, a young girl who enjoys reading books and has psychokinetic powers. She overcomes many obstacles driven by her uncaring family and heinous headmistress.
Matilda The Musical will grace the Turner Stage at Lenoir Community College this coming July. The musical's narrative centers on Matilda Wormwood, a precocious 5-year-old girl with the gift of telekinesis. She loves reading, overcomes obstacles caused by her family and school, and helps her teacher reclaim her life.
On Saturday, May 14, auditions for the Road to New York Talent Competition opened at the Kinston High School Performing Arts Center. I asked Capt. Newborn how the auditions went.
Lenoir Community College’s Arts & Sciences Department is presenting Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues January 24 and 25 at Queen Street Deli. This play is often performed on college campuses as a part of “V Day,” which is a global activist movement that works toward ending violence and trafficking of women and girls across the world. All of the play’s proceeds will be donated.
Auditions for Lenoir Community College’s production, Ragtime, The Musical will be held January 4, by appointment only at LCC. Show dates are April 24, 25, 26 and May 1, 2, 3, 2020.
Lenoir Community College student Makayla Jarman of La Grange is taking to the stage at the Wilson Center in Wilmington in Mr. Holland’s Opus in April. She is in the ensemble/youth company, her first professional paid performance.
Young Ed Grady was born to Eddie and Maude Grady in Kinston, North Carolina on August 31, 1923. As a boy he played with his brother Robert on the streets and school yards of Kinston. He attended Grainger High School where he was a star football player as one of the Red Devils.
