Woman charged with accessory to murder of 16-year-old Jayden Ellis
On Tuesday, April 4th, 2023, members of the Kinston Police Department charged a second 17 y/o Kinston juvenile with the murder of 16 y/o Jayden Ellis of Kinston. The juvenile was charged in the murder that occurred on March 18th at 500 Marcella Dr. and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle that occurred on March 17th, 2023 at 701 W. Vernon Ave. Kinston, N.C. At this time, the juvenile is being held in a juvenile detention facility pending further court appearances.
Upon further investigation, Lanesha Lawrence, 41, of Kinston was also arrested and charged with Accessory After the Fact for Murder and Obstruction of Justice. Ms. Lawrence was placed in the Lenoir County Jail under a secured bond.
The Kinston Police Department continues to investigate this case and more arrest are expected to follow.
