Wallace Jerome Williams, age 97, departed his Earthly life and transitioned into eternal life during the early hours of June 4th, 2022. There will be a Celebration of Life open to all friends and family at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 8th, at Westview Cemetery in Kinston, NC, officiated by Reverend Clint White.

The Lenoir County Health Department received confirmation from the North Carolina State Laboratory that another raccoon has tested positive for rabies. The animal was located in the Northern part of Lenoir County.

Ending a June 3rd commencement ceremony, 49 Parrott Academy seniors turned their tassels and marched out of Ellis Simon Gym as graduates. Head of School David Moody saluted the Class of 2022 for their “spirit, enthusiasm, and talent.” He noted their honors in fine arts, six state athletic championships over four years of high school, and over 2,700 hours of community service in their senior year.
