As we near the end of one fiscal year and head into the next, I want to urge all of you to think about the causes you care about and ask how you can help meet the needs you see. Far too many people complain about situations in our society, and far too few are willing to step up to address these situations.

The board of advisors of the Jones County Community Foundation will begin accepting grant applications from nonprofits serving needs in the local community. Funds are available for nonprofit organizations serving Jones County and will be awarded from the community grantmaking fund. Grants typically range from $500 to $1,000.

Instead of just making a complaint post, he also offered to be a part of the solution, and he did just that.
