Adopting a dog brings joy to all

In 2019, I went to a pet store in Greenville on the hunt for my best friend. I knew since I was 5 years old that as soon as I had my home, I would adopt a dog. No one tells you how difficult it is to adopt or purchase a dog, but you need to weigh the options either way.

Greene County Board of Education Chooses New Leadership

On Monday, December 19, 2022, the Greene County Board of Education held their first meeting with its new members. As is done after every election, the board “reorganizes” itself by electing Chairman and Vice Chairman. This year was the first time in a long time that Pat Adams would not be chosen to serve as the board chair as she lost her seat in the general election.

On Thursday, December 22nd, 2022, members of the Kinston Police Department were called to the report of an assault that was taking place near the 800 block of East St. Upon arrival officers met with the suspects who advised that the assault occurred due to the dating relationship of the assault victim, Raheem McClean (26) of Kinston, and a 14 year old relative of the assault suspects.

We raised a fair amount of money to buy some presents and also to provide a Walmart Gift-card to assist the family during the holiday season. Rochelle Middle School principal steps up to the plate

On Monday, what was supposed to be a normal school day turned into an interesting one at Rochelle Middle School. When students showed up to the cafeteria for their normal lunch period, they were excited to see their Principal Terry Wooten serving them lunch. Principal Wooten stepped up to the plate when she found out that the cafeteria was short-staffed on Monday.
