D-Squad apprehends four in stolen vehicle on Vernon Avenue
D-Squad received information that a stolen vehicle was traveling on Vernon Avenue. Officers observed the vehicle and confirmed it was stolen from Virginia. The officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made the following arrest:
Obituary: Jean Sutton Pate
Jean Sutton Pate, 89, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023. A service to celebrate and remember Jean’s life will be held by the graveside at Fairview Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. The family will receive friends following the service.

Greenville, NC - AgCarolina Farm Credit announces $50,500 in grants have been extended to eighteen organizations through its corporate-giving program. Just after 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Lenoir County 911 received multiple calls about a fire at 181 Gullick Drive. Firefighters arrived to the scene to find heavy fire coming from a single-wide mobile home.
