Junious Smith III: Introducing "The Flourish Hill Podcast"
This has been interesting to say the least.
The first two installments of The Flourish Hill Podcast are in the books, with Graham Hill and I even getting our first guest, Greene Central emcee Jay Wilson. So far, it’s been a fun excursion into a broadcast and finding another medium to get the word out about the talented boys and girls in our local area.
To everyone who has supported with a listen, share or financial donation, you’re all appreciated. The idea of putting together this podcast came from Graham, who has been completely gung-ho about the entire operation. Having him as a co-host (and essentially my first journalism mentee) gives me even more enthusiasm to try different avenues and step out of my comfort zone.
I don’t like the sound of my voice and actually get a bit nervous talking on and off camera, so having The Flourish Hill Podcast is beneficial for shaking those issues while also bringing more conviction to other interviews.
Graham and I will continue to bring in great guests, provide informative podcasts and have a great time doing it all. We hope you continue to show support as the show can only get better from our first two episodes. Be sure to check out flourishhill.com for the complete archive of episodes, along with any changes.
Finally, we talked with Jay about Friday’s big game between Greene Central and Kinston in Snow Hill in the last episode. Graham and I will have the live audio broadcast Friday on the Neuse News Facebook page for those who couldn’t get in (and trust me, if you’re not there by 5 p.m. for the 7:30 tipoff, it’s doubtful you will).

The second installment of the Flourish Hill Podcast had the first special guest, as Greene Central emcee Jay Wilson came to the station. Wilson talked with Junious Smith III and Graham Hill about his start calling games for the Rams while also breaking down action in the Eastern Carolina Conference. Smith also brought up interesting restaurants in his trip to the Outer Banks last weekend.
