'Nine Questions' with photographer Bud Hardy
In a series of interviews leading up to the official launch of Neuse News, we are introducing you to the people behind the scenes of the endeavor. William "Bud" Hardy is everywhere in Lenoir County. His business, Bud's Photography, is known for taking pictures at graduations, proms, sporting events and so much more. Before starting his own business, he was in the Army, where his passion for the camera began.
Neuse News: How important is this community to you?
Bud Hardy: It is very important. I love my community, I was born and raised here.
NN: What does community journalism mean to you?
BH: Community journalism means a lot to me. I want to know what's going on in my community.
NN: What do you believe you bring to Neuse News?
BH: I'm a photographer so you can see stuff with your eyes and through my eyes. I hope everyone will love my pictures and I hope to bring awesome pictures to Neuse News.
NN: How did you find your love for photography?
BH: When I was in the Army, I started takings pictures of everything and found the love for photography.
NN: How did you get started in photography?
BH: In the Army when my girlfriend bought me a camera for my birthday and I got hooked.
NN: What do you believe has been lacking when it comes to local news?
BH: I love sports so I want to hear about all the local teams.
NN: What are your hobbies?
BH: My hobbies are photography, basketball and chilling with family and friends.
NN: What are your favorite kinds of photos to take?
BH: My favorite type of photos to take are family photos and sports. I love action sports shots.
NN: When you were younger, what did you see yourself being when you grew up?
BH: When I was younger, I loved basketball and wanted to play in the NBA, but I wasn't good enough.
