Jones County Chat to launch this week

Another stream of information for residents of Jones County has been launched.

As part of a recommendation of the Lenoir Community College Jones County Center Advisory Committee as a means to enhance the communication among citizens, Jones County Chat was created. The program will be weekly and spanning about 30 minutes, covering a multitude of topics affecting residents in Jones County.

"We're hoping to reach even more areas in the county with this," Jones County Manager Franky Howard said. "We want to do our part to get the message out where we can."  

The Jones County Commissioners agreed more communication is healthy for the community, most evident during Hurricane Florence. Through a sponsorship with LCC, Jones County leadership is providing a series of informal talk shows with community leaders.

“We’re thrilled to be part of it,” LCC Marketing Director Richy Huneycutt said. “The idea is to share info and improve dialogue for Jones County citizens.”
