Commissioners to discuss open manager job

A special meeting has been scheduled for Monday at 10 a.m. in the conference room of the Lenoir County Administration Building, 101 N. Queen St.

Lenoir County Board of Commissioners Chair Linda Rouse Sutton said the purpose of the meeting is to continue progressing in dialogue toward a permanent Lenoir County manager. Joey Bryan has served as the interim since Mike Jarman’s retirement Sept. 1.

“This will be an open session, and then we’ll close it while discussing personnel,” Sutton said. “We will not name candidates at this time — we’re looking at our options and moving forward.”

Sutton said she hopes to have a new county manager in place by March 1.
