Zach Taylor, Greene Central, baseball
Taylor helped the Rams pick up three wins in four days during the Pitt County Classic. The junior went 2-3 with a home run, stolen base and 3 RBIs in a 5-3 victory over North Pitt April 20, then followed with two stolen bases in an 8-2 win against Roanoke Rapids on April 22 before throwing a complete game in a 5-2 victory over Pamlico County a day later.
Favorite food: Pepperoni pizza
Favorite musical artist: NBA Youngboy
One place he would like to travel to: Los Angeles
His favorite subject in school: Math, because he’s always felt comfortable with the subject
Kim Gurkins, Ayden-Grifton, softball
Gurkins provided a big spark for the Chargers, who won both of their games in the Greenville Conley Easter Tournament on April 20. The sophomore threw 13 innings that day as Ayden-Grifton won 11-0 over New Bern and 8-4 against Currituck County. Gurkins also hit the ball well, going a combined 5-8 at the plate with five RBIs over the two games.

One place she would like to travel to: Florida
Her favorite subject in school: Math, because the teachers at the school have helped her get a better grasp on it
