District licensure specialist earns recognition from national group

LCPS licensure specialist Sharron James-Bizzell will be recognized this week at the annual conference of the National Association of Educational Office Professionals for completion of a program designed to enhance professional competencies.

Bizzell recently completed requirements for the master degree level of the Professional Standards Program. The master level is the penultimate of nine levels of certification.

She has earned the following certification: Master Degree, Option II and Certified Educational Office Employee. NAEOP provides the opportunity through the Professional Standards Program for members to enhance their job skills through academic programs, conferences and institutes.

The Lenoir County Board of Education and Superintendent Brent Williams recognized Bizzell for her achievement at the July 8 school board meeting.

Bizzell, of Goldsboro, is attending the national conference in Boise, Idaho, as president of the North Carolina Association of Educational Office Professional, a position she’s held since March. She has been a member of the NCAEOP since 1990 and previously held leadership positions in the county and district organizations.

EOP membership is open to educational office personnel and administrators in public and private educational systems. Licensure specialist is a key component of the district’s human resources department.
