Maysville's annual 4th of July event

The town of Maysville is holding it’s annual 4th of July event at William Frost Park on 8th Street. A community softball game will begin at 4:00 pm kicking off the evenings festivities. This event will include live music provided by Joe Brown & The Band, free food donated by the local Piggly Wiggly, and a fireworks display.

“I can’t wait for tomorrow night,” said Schumata Brown, the town manager of Maysville. “Free music, free food, and fireworks. It’s going to be a great time.”

Per their Facebook page, Joe Brown & The Band cover a variety of popular songs from a diverse selection of artists and genres. They aim to bring joy and happiness to all who fall under the sound of their music. They seek to bring people together in unity with the goal of guiding people to the realization that no matter who they are, where they are from, or what they look like, they are all one.

“We are excited and grateful for the opportunity to return to Maysville, NC.” said Joe Brown of the band. “Special thanks to Town Manager Schumata Brown and his team for all their continuous efforts to make this event a success.”

“We look forward to seeing everyone in the park. We’re serving music for the people.” Brown continued.

William Frost Park in Maysville consists of 2 basketball courts, a baseball field, a football field, free WiFi, full bathrooms, a pavilion, a strength training area, two play areas, and walking trails. In 2018 a splash pad was introduced for children of all ages to play in.
