Farmer's market update for 07/06/19

What's at the Farmer's Market?
Delicious summertime bounty abounds in sweet corn in white, bi-color and yellow is everywhere and is super delicious! You can buy it shucked or unshucked! Butter beans are a maybe because it's been too hot! You can get pink-eye peas already shelled!
And those wonderful heirloom tomatoes....but you should shop early! There are field grown tomatoes also as well as yellow squash, pattypan squash, zuchinni. just waiting for some spring onions and maybe just a little bacon grease. And new potatoes that are oh, so sweet and good. We have local cantaloupe and local watermelon. Okra will also be available. Try them roasted if you think you don't like okra!
You can get pickling cucumbers. just waiting to be served in a sandwich or with delicious spring onions, soaked in vinegar. Fresh, free range eggs, local honey, relaxing bath products an lotions, (check out Bridgette's new products ) pork skins, rinds and fried peanuts (not this Saturday) and beautiful wreaths and other crafts are available and maybe even gorgeous sunflowers!
Join us on Saturday between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. to support your local farmers, beekeepers and craftsmen. Tuesday's market will be open between 8 a.m. and 2 a.m. and has produce only this Tuesday. The pork skin man is on vacation.
