Rubio had an impressive showing in a matchup against North Pitt Sept. 3. The junior scored four goals and added two assists on his 16th birthday, leading Greene Central to a 6-1 victory over the Panthers.

Kanijah Taylor, North Lenoir, volleyball

Taylor had a strong showing in the Hawks’ straight sets victory over Greene Central. The senior had eight kills and three blocks as North Lenoir won 25-22, 25-11, 25-21 in its home opener.
