Obituary: Scarlette Hinnant Stovall

Mrs. Scarlette Hinnant Stovall, 50, lost her courageous battle with cancer and won her place in heaven with her Heavenly Father. Scarlette passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice. 

The service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday at 2 PM at Christ Church, 745 Davenport Farm Road, Winterville, NC. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at the church. 

Scarlette was a lifelong resident of Pitt County. She will always be remembered as one of the most inspiring, caring, and selfless people you ever met. She enjoyed being a preschool teacher and loved all children. She loved to travel, dance, and be surrounded by family and friends. Scarlette was a very devoted Christian, mother, wife, sister, and daughter. Her greatest joy was in doing for others.  

Scarlette is survived by her husband, William Stovall, Jr; daughter, Whitney Loron Stovall; son, William Stovall, III.; brother, Pat Hinnant and wife, Hallie; mother, Glenda Barnes and husband, Tommy; father, Rocky Hinnant and wife, Pat; sister-in-law, Joanna Wooten and husband, Mark; brother-in-law, Clint Stovall and wife, Gisela; in-laws, William Paul and Gail Stovall; nieces, Lauren Wooten and Sydney Barnes, and Nell Stovall; nephews, Tyler Hinnant, Brannon Hinnant, Jackson Hinnant, Logan Wooten, and Landon Wooten; and her best friend, Laura Garret.
