13 Greene County citizens now test positive for COVID-19

Snow Hill, NC – The 13th case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in Greene County. The Greene County Department of Public Health received notification of the lab-confirmed positive case on Monday, April 13th. The individual was tested on Thursday, April 9th. The individual is isolated at home. To protect individual privacy, no further information will be shared. 

Greene County is continuing to monitor the situation and its impact on our community. New information will be shared Monday afternoon, if necessary. Residents who feel they are symptomatic and in need of testing, need to call their primary care provider ahead of time in order to receive instructions on how to proceed. 

Join us in the fight against COVID-19 by: 

• Staying home and only leaving for essential trips (ex. Groceries, medications). 

• If you have to leave for essential food or medications, use the pickup/drive-thru, where available. 

• Practice social distancing, which means physically distancing yourself from others at least 6 feet. 

• No gatherings of 10 or more. 

• If you are feeling sick, isolate yourself away from any other household members & stay home. 

• Wash your hands frequently with soap and water, for at least 20 seconds. 

• Clean/disinfect commonly used areas and surfaces. 

• Cough and sneeze into a tissue and throw the tissue away. 

• Avoid touching your eyes, mouth, and nose with unwashed hands. 

• And remember, we’re all in this together! Stay Home. Stay Safe. Save Lives.
