Kinston police: Breaking & Entering suspects charged

Over the last couple of months, Officers have seen an increase in Shed and/or Outside Storage Building Breaking & Entering’s. During the course of this investigation, Officers were able to identify Javion Rashard Murriel as a suspect in some of these incidents.

On 08/14/2020 Officers with the Kinston Police Department charged Javion Rashard Murriel, age 26 of Kinston, NC with 19 counts of Felony Breaking and /or Entering. In addition to Mr. Murriel, Shakira Shanequa Turnage, age 22 of Kinston, NC was charged with two counts of Felony Obtaining Property by False Pretense for her involvement.

The Kinston Police Department places the highest priority on investigating crimes of violence perpetrated in our city. We will investigate such cases with no compromise for crime, and continue to seek assistance from the community we proudly serve.
