On Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 3:36 p.m., Kinston Police Officers heard gunshots in the area of 500 E. Shine St. Kinston, NC. Officers began searching the area when they received another call of shots fired in the area of Harvey and Raleigh St. Kinston, NC. Officers on the 500 block of E Shine St. located approximately 17 shell casings of various calibers. No shell casings were recovered in the area of Harvey and Raleigh St. Kinston, NC.
On April 8, 2021, Detectives with the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office located and arrested Dishon Ismael Blount of Kinston in relation to a shooting incident that occurred on Will Baker Road in Lenoir County on March 11, 2021.

On March 10, 2021 at 1430 hrs, officers with the Kinston Police Department responded to UNC Lenoir in regards to a person who had been shot. Upon arrival officers located a 26 year old male suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper leg.
