Kinston Police Department: Arrest made in recent case of shots fired

On Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 3:36 p.m., Kinston Police Officers heard gunshots in the area of 500 E. Shine St. Kinston, NC. Officers began searching the area when they received another call of shots fired in the area of Harvey and Raleigh St. Kinston, NC. Officers on the 500 block of E Shine St. located approximately 17 shell casings of various calibers. No shell casings were recovered in the area of Harvey and Raleigh St. Kinston, NC.

During the course of this investigation, it was determined that Donquez Leceal Strong, age 22 of Kinston, Anthony Lamont Mason, age 26 of Kinston, NC and Xavier Daveion Parks, age 21 also of Kinston, NC had exchanged gunfire at each other while riding in the area.

On Friday, April 30, 2021 officers obtained warrants on Mr. Strong, Mr. Mason and Mr. Parks for Discharge firearm within an enclosure to incite fear and Discharging a weapon into occupied Dwelling/Moving Vehicle. Mr. Strong was taken into custody later that day and Mr. Parks was taken into custody on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. At this time, Officers are still searching for Mr. Mason.
