Kinston will be Harbor Freight's 45th location this spring

Harbor Freight has been in business for over 43 years offering quality tools. In late spring, they will be adding their 45th location in Kinston. The new store will be located at 4150 W. Vernon Avenue across from Walmart.

“We’re delighted to confirm that Harbor Freight plans to join the Kinston Community,” said Craig Hoffman, Director, Corporate Communications & Content for Harbor Freight Tools.

The 19,000 sq. ft. facility will offer convenience for their customers. Harbor Freight believes their locations allow them to be different from their big box competitors as they are easier to shop in. They stock over 7,000 tools and strive to keep their prices low by buying direct from factories instead of dealers and passing that savings on to their customers.

“We’ve been looking at a location in Lenoir County, and specifically Kinston for some time,” said Hoffman.

The closest Harbor Freight locations are all at least 20 minutes away from the one opening in the spring. The facility in Winterville, NC is 21 miles north, the facility in Goldsboro, NC is 22 miles west, and the facility in New Bern, NC is 29 miles east.

“We also bring about 25-30 new, local jobs to the community and are excited to have people apply to join our team,” said Hoffman.

The company offers high pay, benefits, and the opportunity to grow within the company. Hoffman states, “We think we’re one of the best places to work in retail.”

Harbor Freight has over 1,100 locations across the country and strives to be involved members of the community.

“In March, we donated our entire supply of Personal Protective Equipment-nitrile gloves, N95 masks and face shields to over 1,000 community hospitals so they could protect our medical personnel on the front lights of fighting the infection,” said Hoffman.
