SALARY RANGE: $68,832 - $102,182

GENERAL STATEMENT OF POSITION: The Budget & Management Analyst is a highly motivated and self-directed professional who will perform advanced professional management analysis and evaluation in the preparation and administration of the County’s operating and capital budgets. The Budget & Management Analyst may represent the County Manager and attends meetings as the County's representative. Considerable tact, diplomacy, judgment and initiative are needed to make decisions and effectively perform these functions for the County. Work is performed under the general supervision of the County Manager with limited daily direction. Work will include collaboration with the County’s Management Team, and all other Departments to bring together the strategic plan and budget direction.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of County Administration and governmental budgeting; thorough knowledge of the laws and regulations governing County financial practices and procedures; thorough knowledge of research techniques and sources and availability of information; thorough knowledge of revenue forecasting and expenditure analysis; thorough knowledge of County operations; thorough knowledge of computers and appropriate software packages; ability to analyze budgets, financial information, policies and procedures and make recommendations; ability to be organized and systematic in the work; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with department directors, supervisors, and employees; ability to express ideas clearly and effectively, orally and in writing, ability to effectively work as a member of the organization’s Management Team.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field, or possession of a Master’s Degree in a related field, and 6 years of progressively responsible financial management experience which includes a minimum of 3 years of supervisory and governmental accounting experience, preferably in a local governmental setting; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
