National Weather Service: Potential tropical development this weekend

An area of low pressure off the Southeast coast has the potential to develop into a tropical or subtropical storm over the weekend. There remains large uncertainty in both the development of this system, and where it would eventually track as the steering pattern is very weak over us this weekend. If the system develops and moves close to the NC coast by Sunday, we could see several impacts including strong winds, coastal flooding and ocean overwash (worsened by King Tides this weekend).
