Governor Cooper Signs Four Bills into Law

RALEIGH: Today, Governor Roy Cooper signed the following bills into law:

  • Senate Bill 66: Regulate Use of Deer Secretions for Hunting

    AN ACT TO DISAPPROVE A RULE RELATED TO CERVID EXCRETIONS ADOPTED BY THE WILDLIFE RESOURCES COMMISSION AND TO DIRECT THE WILDLIFE RESOURCES COMMISSION TO REVISE THE RULE.

  • Senate Bill 270: Insurance Technical Changes

    AN ACT REVISING THE VERIFICATION OBLIGATIONS OF AN INSURER AND ITS AGENT WITH RESPECT TO RATE EVASION FRAUD; RECODIFYING CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE PROVISIONS; AND ESTABLISHING A CIVIL PENALTY FOR THE FRAUDULENT PREPARATION, ISSUANCE, REQUESTING, OR REQUIREMENT OF A CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE.

  • Senate Bill 311: No Waiting Period Under LGERS/VFDF Grants

    AN ACT PROHIBITING MEMBERSHIP WAITING PERIODS FOR ELIGIBLE EMPLOYEES UNDER THE LOCAL GOVERNMENTAL EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM, UPDATING THE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT FUND MATCHING REQUIREMENTS, AND GIVING THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENTAL EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM THE DISCRETIONARY AUTHORITY TO PROVIDE ONE-TIME PENSION SUPPLEMENTS TO ITS MEMBERS; AND TO REDUCE THE SUTA TAX RATE FOR 2022.

  • House Bill 814: Neighborhood Occupantless Vehicle

    AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE OPERATION OF NEIGHBORHOOD OCCUPANTLESS VEHICLES.

Governor Cooper made the following statement on SB 311:

“Small businesses that are hiring workers, navigating supply chains and emerging from the pandemic must not endure a tax increase and this legislation fixes that.”
