$34,000.00 - $40,000.00 Annually

 

General Function

This position provides various administrative and clerical duties in support of the Vice President of Student Services and Institutional Effectiveness including planning and implementing special projects and activities that are under the Vice President's authority.

Qualifications

·         Associate degree with 3-5 years of experience in an office setting required 

·         Community college experience preferred 

·         Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills 

·         Knowledge of general office practices and procedures 

·         Knowledge of office equipment such as the computer, printer, copier, fax machine, and telephone

Working Conditions

·         Typical office environment 

·         Frequently sitting at a desk using a telephone, computer, keyboard, and mouse 

·         Working closely with others 

·         Periodically working irregular hours

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The duties of the Administrative Assistant include, but are not limited to: 

·         Plans and schedules meetings and appointments 

·         Organizes and maintains paper and electronic files 

·         Composes internal and external correspondence 

·         Prepares reports, creates presentations, manages projects, and conducts research 

·         Maintains the calendar of events for the Vice President of Student Services and Institutional Effectiveness

·         Tracks the budget expenditures and allotments for the office of the Vice President 

·         Makes travel arrangements as necessary for the Vice President 

·         Records and prepares minutes of meetings chaired by the Vice President 

·         Coordinates social functions on campus when necessary 

·         Interacts with various individuals and groups such as students, faculty, staff, and senior administrators 

·         Performs other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Student Services and Institutional Effectiveness
