A video has been posted on social media involving the Kinston Police Department. The 18 second video shows what appears to be a KPD officer using force to detain an individual. The video was posted on Monday, April 12.

At approximately 8:32 pm on April 28, 2021, the Highway Patrol was notified of a Kinston Police Department vehicle collision that resulted in a pedestrian fatality.

The City of Kinston received a request from Halcon Companies to utilize a Conditional Use Permit for multi-family apartment units on an 8.61 acre tract on a lot just off North Queen Street, adjacent to Kinston High School.
