Dec 3 Amazon is coming to Kinston

The world’s fourth most valuable brand, Amazon, is coming to Kinston.

Across job sites, including Job Searcher, Career Seeker, and Trabajo.org there are listings for different positions for an Amazon Warehouse in Kinston. Social media posts began to pop up questioning why there were Amazon job postings in Kinston.

“I can tell you that they are coming,” said Lenoir County Chair Linda Rouse Sutton.

Rouse stated that Amazon has not asked for any incentives from the county, or the city that she is aware of.

“We are very excited over the fact that they are coming,” said Sutton. “We welcome them here.”

Job openings include Warehouse Shopper Team Member, Amazon Prime Delivery Driver, Package Sorter, Amazon Warehouse Worker, Warehouse Assistant and more.

Sutton was not the only Lenoir County official to confirm Amazon’s arrival.

Assistant County Manager and Planning & Inspections Director Adam Short said, “In speaking with our inspectors, they expect an early spring opening for operations.”

The Amazon site is located at 1302 Enterprise Blvd in the Industrial Park.

“They are working feverishly to get things up and running,” said Short.
