Amazon, United Way Donate to Local Shelters
Amazon’s local Kinston plant and Lenoir/Greene United Way teamed up to donate personal care products to three local shelters. Donations of men’s and women’s undergarments, toiletries, socks and cleansing wipes were given to Greene County Interfaith in Snow Hill, SAFE and the Friends of the Homeless shelter…a donation valued at over $1,000.

Being new to Lenoir County’s business community, the leaders of the Amazon distribution site in Kinston and its employees want to forge a connection with people who live here. They started this week with the youngest of the county’s residents and with the school supplies many will need to get off to a good start in the coming school year.

Food and nutrition services participants can now use benefits for online purchases at four additional grocery stores
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services today announced the Food and Nutrition Services program has expanded participation in the FNS Online Purchasing Program from seven retailers to 11. FNS recipients can access these 11 retailers online to make food purchases with their Electronic Benefit Transfer cards.

The world’s fourth most valuable brand, Amazon, is coming to Kinston. “I can tell you that they are coming,” said Lenoir County Chair Linda Rouse Sutton. Job openings include Warehouse Shopper Team Member, Amazon Prime Delivery Driver, Package Sorter, Amazon Warehouse Worker, Warehouse Assistant and more.
