Lenoir County issues burn ban

Lenoir County issues burn ban

North Carolina Forestry Service and Lenoir County Emergency Services have issued a burn ban effective at noon Monday, May 24, 2021 and shall remain in effect until further notice.

The burn ban cancels all burning permits and prohibits open burning for the entire county.

The use of outdoor grills for cooking is still allowed under this ban; however, the grills must have a cover that can be placed over the coals once cooking is complete. Open-pit cooking or open flames for cooking purposes are not allowed.

If you have any questions, please contact Lenoir County Emergency Services at 252-559-1911.
