Grade 26/Salary Range: $75,978 - $115,609

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB Under limited supervision, performs highly responsible supervisory, administrative and fiscal control work for County government in the capacity of the organization’s Assistant County Manager / Chief Financial Officer. Work involves planning, coordinating, and directing County financial management and administration. Employee is responsible for maintaining records of bonded debt, planning and directing the receipt, disbursement and accounting of County revenues and expenditures, managing the investment of County funds, and assisting the County Manager in preparing the annual budget. Position has indirect oversight of the Tax Administration Department for the effective and comprehensive tax listing, assessment and collection program for the County and a program for revaluation of County real property for tax purposes.

Also, indirectly oversees the following Departments: Finance, Solid Waste, Information Technology, Facilities Maintenance and Soil & Water. Employee serves on the County’s Senior Management Team and serves in an “in-charge” capacity when designated by the County Manager. Employee supervises a staff of professional, technical and clerical personnel. The Assistant County Manager represents the County Manager and attends meetings as the County's representative. Considerable tact, diplomacy, judgment and initiative are needed to make decisions and effectively perform these functions for the County. Work is performed under the general supervision of the County Manager.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field, and preferably a Certified Public Accountant, or has a Master’s Degree in a related field, and 6 years of progressively responsible financial management experience which includes a minimum of 3 years each of supervisory and governmental accounting experience, preferably in a local governmental setting; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
