Relay for Life event at South Lenoir High School on Friday

There will be a Relay for Life event at South Lenoir High School, located at 3355 Old Hwy 11 in Deep Run, NC, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Friday, July 16, 2021. This event will honor cancer survivors and raise money for the American Cancer Society.

"It is a privilege to chair the Relay For Life again and bring it to South Lenoir," said Jo Ellen Sloan, chairman. "We encourage everyone to come out and have a good time."

The event will kick off with an opening ceremony, and then a Survivor/Caregiver Walk followed by a parade of teams that raised money for Relay for Life. Flimsy the Clown will DJ the event. The Luminaria Ceremony will represent everyone touched by cancer. Luminaries can be purchased for $10. There will be food, a bounce house, and a dunking booth at the event.

The Relay For Life movement is dedicated to helping communities attack cancer. Through funds donated, time given, or awareness raised, communities are teaming up, virtually or in person, to make a difference.

Survivors and caretakers interested in joining in can use the link below to the Relay for Life for Lenoir County website to register.
