Greene County STEM program to be featured on PBS
Greene County Schools award winning STEM Program will be featured on the TV Series ncImpact. According to Dr. Jose Garcia, Director of K-12 Curriclum and STEM “David Hurst is a producer/reporter with PBS North Carolina. He works on a TV series called ncIMPACT, produced in partnership with the UNC School of Government and UNC Health. The program takes a look at how communities are coming up with innovative solutions to statewide issues.”
The program features innovative programs through out the state. The episode that will feature Greene County Schools is called “Rural STEM Education”. According to Dr. Garcia the episode” will feature innovative programs through out the state that are working on this topic. They visited Greene Central to interview me (Garcia), a teacher and some students.”
Dr. Garcia’s 12 year journey establishing the STEM program is a main feature in the program. The reporter also looked at how STEM is taught at Greene Central.
