Children's Village Academy

Score: 99.5

Observations: 

A few old mouse droppings on storage shelves. 

Children's Village Academy

900 E Washington Street, Kinston 

Date: 10/10

Score: 95

Observations: 

Bathroom lavatory only 70-72F today. 

Square cornered sink not approved. 

Test strips seem to be damaged and not reading accurately. 

A few dead bugs on floor post extermination. 

Area of ceiling/wall joint over refrigeration that is in bad repair seems to be from water damage.

 

Piggly Wiggly Deli #78

2407 D N Herritage Street, Kinston

Observations: 

Several incidences of hot food not being held/maintained at greater than 135F. 

Hot hold cabinet in kitchen is duct taped together. 

Milk crates not approved shelving as floors are not being kept clean under them. 

Cardboard not approved shelving material. 

Interior and exterior of all hot hold units, refrigeration, stoves, ovens, sides of equipment, and shelving needs thorough cleaning. 

Bases of toilets need really good cleaning. Mens room toilet bowl needs cleaning. 

Floors in walk in freezers and refrigerators and under and around all equipment needs cleaning. 

Clean walls all over including around slicers. Clean ceilings. 

Keep employee items separate from food service. 

Clean hood and filters. 

Northwest Elementary School

Observations: 

Dish machine is not in use at this time due to hot water not reaching required temperatures. 

Clean floor of 2 door milk fridge under milk crates. 

Ceiling damaged in dining room and kitchen. 

Paint peeling on kitchen ceiling, walls, and hood surround. 

Rochelle Middle School Cafeteria

301 N Rochelle Boulevard, Kinston

Observations: 

One food cart has a melted handle covered with duct tape. 

Dishwasher not in use at this time due to faulty breaker. 

Paint peeling on walls and hood surround. 

Ceiling tiles in area of dining room missing/bad repair dueu to water damage and molded. 

Banks Elementary School

2148 Falling Creek Road, Kinston

Observations: 

Can storage and storage racks are exposed to dust. 

Food storage is to be free of/out of reach of splash, dust, or other contamination. 

Dumpsters uncovered and doors opened. 

Drain plug missing. 

Ceilings have peeling paint present. 

Vance's 

3601 Hwy 55 W, Kinston

Score: 92.5

Observations: 

No Certified Food Protection Manager on duty. 

No paper towels available in bathroom. 

Some food not date marked. 

Mouse droppings in cabinets, bathroom cabinet, and lower shelving. Dead roaches in cabinets at coffee station. 

Clean inside fridges where water pooling/foods dripping. 

Clean inside cabinets. 

3 comp sink overflows when running water. 

Spray faucet leaking.
