KPD makes arrest in 2015 murder case

On May 31, 2015 at 12:24 pm, Timothy Nobles was shot multiple times while operating his  motor vehicle on the 400 Block of Cox Avenue at Heritage Street. Nobles traveled less than  100 yards before striking a utility pole. Nobles died at the scene. Investigators believe there  were witnesses that may have information on the case but have not come forward. The case  remains unsolved to this date.

On Tuesday, March 1, 2022, members of the Kinston Police Department along with the U.S.  Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force arrested Marquis Jaquan Bizzell, 28, of Kinston N.C. for 1st Degree Murder for his involvement in the 2015 murder of Timothy Nobles. Bizzell has been  jailed without bond. This arrest would not have been possible without cooperation from the  community and without the support of the District Attorney’s Office, District 8A.  

The Kinston Police Department places the highest priority on investigating crimes of violence  perpetrated in our city. We will continue to investigate such cases with no compromise for crime,  and continue to seek assistance from the communities that we proudly serve.
