GCMS/GCHS HOSA Earns multiple titles

On March 8-10 students from Greene Central High School and Greene County Middle School participated in the State Competition for the North Carolina HOSA organization. HOSA is a student led experience that centers around Health Care. Students from both schools participated in numerous areas and walked away with several titles.

HOSA is sponsored by Lisa Wilson and Lisa Johnson, GCHS Health Occupations teachers and assisted at GCMS by Niki Dixon, a Read 180 interventionist.

Mrs. Wilson shared that she was “very excited to have a program at GCMS and have students competing at the state level.”

Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Johnson were honored by the state organization as Gold Star Advisors. HOSA has long been part of the GCHS landscape but just this year expanded to GCMS to build upon the success of the High School Program.

The Students will now move on to what is called the International Competition which is Nashville, Tennessee this summer.
