Snow Hill - On Friday, February 28, Greene County Middle School presented a celebration of Black History featuring Rep. Don Davis (D-NC 1) as a guest speaker for the event. The event was a culmination of events from throughout the month leading up to the “Old Skool vs. New Skool” program that was presented.

Snow Hill - On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, Greene County Middle School will host its second annual Spring Fling. The focus of this night is to bring together the community, families, and staff all to focus on fun and getting ready for the NC End of Grade Tests.
Snow Hill - Greene County Middle School has announced that Judy Cleary, 8th Grade Science Teacher and Grade Level Chair is this year's Teacher of the Year. Cleary was chosen by a vote of their peers. Cleary has served GCMS in two different spans of time most recently rejoining the school staff in 2021.

Snow HIll - Each year Greene County Middle School’s JR BETA Club partners with Paul Funeral Home in Washington, NC to help brighten the holiday season for the men and women serving overseas. The idea was sparked in 2019 when WITN featured the effort on their morning newscast. Since then GCMS and other GCS schools have provided almost 600 stockings for Soldiers.

On Tuesday night, the Greene County Middle School (GCMS) Cheerleaders competed in the Pitt County Athletic Conference’s annual Cheerleading competition. They finished the night second in their conference.
On Friday, November 18, Greene County Middle School’s Award winning Jr Beta Club inducted 66 new members. This was the first fall in person induction since 2019, as the Pandemic prevented the school from holding in person events. Current Members and new members and their families attended the event held in the school’s gym.
Greene County Middle School (GCMS) has been named the recipient of a North Carolina Community Foundation Grant. The grant in the amount of $1200 was awarded to the school to help develop and fund their Community and Engagement Activities and Goals.
Greene County Middle School announced this week that Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation has selected them to receive new band instruments. These instruments include three baritones, five flutes, three tenor saxophones, two bass clarinets, and five trombones.

On March 8-10 students from Greene Central High School and Greene County Middle School participated in the State Competition for the North Carolina HOSA organization.
