19-year-old arrested and charged in connection with shooting on Wednesday

On Wednesday, April 27th, 2022, members of the Kinston Police Department responded to the report of a shooting that had occurred on the 1500 block of Queens Road. Officers arrived on scene and determined that no one was injured and only property had been damaged. Several witnesses in the area were able to provide detailed suspect information. A short time later, officers located the suspect Emontae Hall, 19, of Kinston walking near the intersection of N. Herritage St. and Glenwood Ave. Kinston, N.C. Hall was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder and Discharging a Weapon into an Occupied Property. He was placed in the Lenoir County Jail under a $250,000 bond. This case remains an active investigation and the Kinston Police Department asks for anyone with information to come forward. 

The Kinston Police Department places the highest priority on investigating crimes of violence perpetrated in our city.
