Help wanted: Lenoir County Public Health - Public Health Nurse II
Special Entry Salary Range: $44,133 - $60,838
Primary Purpose of Position: Provide direct client care in all clinical settings, home visiting and all health care activities related to the prevention and control of communicable disease and tuberculosis. Provide direct preventive health care to clients in clinic and community. Direct staff in Communicable Disease outbreak control. Serve as a member of the EPI team in addressing community wide Communicable Disease needs.
Work Schedule: Five (5) days a week (37 ½ hours). Additional time may be required for the following: - Workshops or Training Sessions - Emergency services for disaster training and staffing shelters - Community education, health fairs, etc. - Public Health emergencies (communicable disease events, natural disasters or bioterrorism Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Thorough knowledge of policies and procedures of TB/CD and Lenoir County Health Department. Ability to make good judgement and notify supervisor. Ability to work/deal effectively with patients, staff and other health professionals. Ability to remain calm and function efficiently in emergency and stressful situations. Required Minimum Training: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing and one year of professional nursing experience. Additional Training/Experience: TB Management Communicable Disease Course CPR Certification NC EDSS Training NIMS 100, 200, 700 Respiratory Fit Testing/Training NCIR Training Bioterrorism and Preparedness Training Fire Extinguisher Training PPE Training Other requirements as programs and mandates change License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation: Current license to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina by the N.C. Board of Nursing. Valid N.C. driver’s license.
