Greene County Sheriff's Office investigating shooting

The Greene County Sheriff's Office and the NC SBI are currently investigating a death that occurred on Exum Ln in Maury on Monday 05/02/2022.

Around 8:30 pm Greene County Deputies responded to Exum Ln in reference to a male possibly shot. Upon arrival Deputies found 18 year old Torrey Freeman of Maury who had suffered from a gunshot wound. Freeman passed away on scene and the Sheriff's Office along with the NC SBI are still investigating the incident.

Both agencies are currently awaiting further evidence from the Medical Examiners Office.
